Nature has been deeply rooted in the Yves Rocher Group ever since it was founded

Belle avec ma planète

The best that nature has to offer with the greatest respect for humankind

Proud of its green values, the Yves Rocher Group has long been committed to developing sustainable employment and environmental protection. Our aims? To control the environmental impact of our activities and to promote the self-fulfilment of our employees.

Eco-citizenship in practice

Designing environmentally friendly products

From the outset, Yves Rocher has striven to innovate while combining high performance and respect for nature.
Promotion of eco-refills, prohibition on GMOs in our products, rejection of animal ingredients and animal testing.
The Yves Rocher brand has chosen to grow certain species used in large volumes itself: camomile, arnica, etc. Since 1997, 40 hectares at la Gacilly have been devoted to this, using bio-certified methods.

Manufacturing in “clean” factories, then distributing

Yves Rocher was the first cosmetics company to commit itself to a triple approach to certification – quality (ISO 9001), safety (OHSAS 18001) and the environment (ISO 14001).
Since March 2006, plastic bags have been replaced by a reusable shopping bag in all our beauty centres. Another step in support of the environment.
Our brands favour recycled cardboard for parcels and avoid the use of PVC or lead in packaging.

The “green attitude” of Group employees

Not just words, but action !

The Group makes it a point of honour to support its employees’ individual and collective initiatives. Every year, the Group’s employees dedicate one day to acting in support of the well-being of others. These “Green Days” are organised by employees grouped into green committees. Great initiatives arise from this: the coordination of a joint market, a fair-trade workshop, etc.

In the same vein, the Nature Trophy Prize supports our employees’ commitment. The 2005 prize rewarded three projects: the creation of a mini-garden in a retirement home, market gardening work in Senegal, the writing of a literary essay on botany.

Examples of partnership

The Fondation Yves Rocher–Institut de France supports operations to protect and enhance the status of the plant world. Under the aegis of the Institut de France, the Fondation Yves Rocher–Institut de France implements many measures, such as:
- The “Terre de Femmes” trophy, which each year rewards women anywhere in the world who are setting an example by working for a greener world.
- Support for educational projects via the “one school, one arboretum” project – 88 projects were supported in 2005

Since 2000, Yves Rocher has supported Proximity Funding, a Filipino NGO that enables small-scale businessmen in deprived areas to create or develop a business with the aid of micro-loans. This provides not only financial help but also, and above all, support in their project to prepare them for the difficulties they will encounter.

In 2006, the Telethon celebrated its 20th anniversary and we celebrated our 14-year commitment to it! Yves Rocher beauty centres and Stanhome representatives are active in this veritable chain of solidarity. With 600,000 euros donated in 2005, the Group is this operation’s second-biggest donor. Like every year, we have a duty to support this event that is resonant with meaning and values.
